    Porting Your Mobile Phone Number

    October 30th, 2006 byPhilip Nicosia

I just moved providers from EasyMobile to T-Mobile. Once EsayMobile put there minimum call charge up to 1 minute it was no longer competive for me. T-Mobile have much cheaper data rates too which is good for me.

Anyway, I am surprised how easy the whole process was. All I had to do was contact Easymobile for a PAC number, ring that through to T-Mobile and 5 days later exactly when they said it would happen it did.

The only problem I had was finding where I put the T-Mobile sim card while I was waiting for it all to happen.

Getting to Number 1 in Yahoo!

    October 27th, 2006 byPhilip Nicosia

Well it looks like I finally made to to number 1 in Yahoo!

I’m surprised that it took so long given that both Google and MSN took less than a few weeks.

Having said that I’ve been bouncing around all over the place in Yahoo! so it may be I’ll be demoted back down tomorrow knowing my luck and overtaken by the bogus Yahoo Shopping page with my name on it.

Might Have To Take My Webcam Down

    October 26th, 2006 byPhilip Nicosia

With the ever increasing levels of the lake at Watermead which is now over the wall and creeping up the bank I might have to take my webcam down before it’s submerged in water.

The water has got a way to go yet but it looks like it is steadily getting there. At this rate I might need a boat to get to my front door soon.

What amazes me is we still have a hosepipe ban?

Will I Ever Get Rid of TalkTalk?

    October 24th, 2006 byPhilip Nicosia

Despite the fact that I haven’t had TalkTalk broadband since the 5th September 2006 they still insist on billing me and chasing me for money.

When I first received a bill for October they told me it was because I had to give 30 days notice to cancel and that I had to pay. When I told them I gave them notice on the 25th July 2006 I was told the invoice would be credited and would show on my next bill.

Now I didn’t trust TalkTalk as their promises seldom come to fruition so I decided to cancel my direct debit to make sure they didn’t get the money which wasn’t due to them. A couple of days later I received a letter telling me I had cancelled my direct debit and I should use an alternative method of payment.

Then today I received a letter telling me my account was overdue. When I rang their credit control department and explained I don’t have broadband with them they told me I still had to pay.

To cut a long story short I think I eventually got my point through and was told my account was going through the termination process and all will be resolved on Friday.

I have no faith in Talk Talk being able to sort this out but fingers crossed miracles might happen and I’ll be finally rid of them. We’ll see soon I guess.

Is Watermead Lake Going to Flood?

    October 23rd, 2006 byPhilip Nicosia

I’ve lived on Watermead now for about 18 months and I have never seen the lake so high before as it it now.

The water is almost above the lake wall and when it is windy it goes above it. The weather forecast for the next 10 days says either rain or showers so it could get even higher than it is now.

Should I be concerned? Is the Lake likely to flood?
