    Should I Block Googlebot?

    November 9th, 2006 byPhilip Nicosia

I have a site that according to Google Sitemaps gets crawled regularly. In the last 90 days it has crawled on average 2209 pages per day.

    Googlebot Chart

Now here’s the thing. I don’t get any visits from Google Search and Google has no pages listed in its index for the site.

So why is Googlebot crawling the pages and waiting my bandwidth?

      Hi Philip

How long has your site been registered? Sometimes Google throws your site into a sandbox for 6 months, until this time has passed, it does not usually show you a lot of results.

Hope this helps and also thankyou for all your referrals to our site

The sites been banned I’m sure. Its about 3 years old and always used to rank really well for all its search terms.

Sandoxed would suggest it was indexed but this one isn’t.
