Gamucci Micro Electronic Cigarette - Don’t bother!

    May 26th, 2008 byPhilip Nicosia

I recently got an email from iwantoneofthose.com advertising “The world’s first electronic cigarette”. Being a smoker myself with a girlfriend who asks me everyday to give up I took a look and I have to say I was impressed.

    In their blurb it says

It looks like a cigarette, it tastes like a cigarette, it smokes like a cigarette, but it isn’t a cigarette, it contains no tobacco, and the “smoke” is just vapour.

and they also show a prety impressive promotional video.

The reality of it is quite different though. The micro is a complete waste of time and very disappointing. It produces very little smoke and was a big waste of money. iwantoneofthose.com also have zero after sales service on these as they say ‘Please note that as per our T&Cs, we cannot accept returns on unwanted items once used.’ When I told them I thought it was faulty they said ‘it does not sound like your product is faulty’.

I find it incredible that they show a promotional video of the classic in action with plenty of smoke which the micro simply isn’t up to the job of creating. I queried this with Gamucci themselves asking the following:

    Hi,

I recently purchased a Gamucci Micro Electronic Cigarette from iwantoneofthose.com and am really disappointed with it. The video on their website shows plenty of smoke from the cigarette but in reality this just isn’t the case with the one I have received. The video shown I didn’t realise at the time is not of the Micro Cigarette but that of the Gamucci Classic. Is there a difference between these 2 and the amount of smoke generated?

Either my Gamucci Micro is faulty or it is completely different to the Classic.

    and was told by Gamucci

    Philip,

The Gamucci Micro and Gamucci Classic are simply 2 different products. The Micro produces less vapour but still gives the same feeling as if you’re smoking.

Now I don’t know whether the micro is faulty or not but I believe it is let down on 2 fronts. From my own observations the atomizer isn’t very good and nor are the cartridges.

I bought some Janty Yentl cartridges Marlboro flavour (I smoked Marlboro before) which look pretty identical to the Gumucci Micro cartridges and putting one of these on the Gamucci produced a lot more smoke than the Gamucci cartridges can.

I also bought a super mini e-cig from Ebay which bellows out smoke but I didn’t like the flavour. Putting one of the Janty Yentl cartridges on that produced 2 to 3 times the vapour that the Gamucci Micro could.

I have to say I am still impressed with the concept of e-smoking and the obvious health benefits to over normal tobacco cigarettes which is why I purchased a different one and other cartridges but not so impressed with the Gumucci Micro.

So if you see one of these Gamucci Micro Electronic cigarettes for sale think very carefully before making that purchase and you won’t get the results you see from the classic.

I wouldn’t want anyone to be put off of e-smoking just because of a bad purchase.

    Update:

I was contacted by Gamucci after seeing my post.

I came across your blog and am extremely saddened by the poor customer
experience you have received. It sounds like there may well be a fault with
your Gamucci Micro, as we have sold thousands with very few problems.

I am also amazed someone has responded back to you stating the Gamucci Micro
produces less vapour than the Classic. I would like to offer you a
replacement Gamucci Micro and some cartridge packs free of charge as a
gesture of good will as you have obviously been treated poorly and
mis-informed. (We have grown quite quickly and have recruited a number of
new employees who may well mis-informed you).

It seems that my suspicions of a faulty unit may be true and I will find out soon enough when I receive the replacement. 10/10 for Gumucci for this and 0/10 for IWOOT’s poor customer service who refused to deal with the problem.

I’m looking forward to getting the replacement and if it is as good as the Classic then I will be very pleased. I’ve also got a classic and couldn’t be happier with it apart from I’d prefer something that stood out less when out and about.

Anybody else got experience with a Gumucci Micro?

i want to now more of this electronic cigarette and the price

    • 2. Philip Nicosia  |  May 27th, 2008 at 5:41 pm

The Gamucci micro costs about £50 but you can get it a bit cheaper on Ebay

    • 3. Simon Watts  |  May 27th, 2008 at 6:08 pm

Sorry to hear about your experience on the Micro. How have to say though, I too bought one from IWOOT and my experience so far has simply been GREAT. My Gamuci Micro produces the same amount of smoke (vapour) as the Gamucci Classic (I have a classic too) does.

By the sounds of it, you must have had something wrong with your Micro or you probably weren’t smoking it properly, as a different technique is required than traditional cigarettes. You should have asked Gamucci to send you a new unit.

I have 2-other friends who also have bought the Micros and are very pleased as it has assisted them to cut down from smoking traditional cigarettes.

    • 4. Philip Nicosia  |  May 27th, 2008 at 6:47 pm

I’m glad your pleased with yours though I think the comparison with the classic is stretching it a bit as Gamucci themselves said they are completely different.

I also bought a classic and have no problem with that.

I am left with a piece of junk (the micro) because IWOOT won’t accept it is faulty and refund my money. I doubt Gamucci will give me a refund seeing as I didn’t buy it from them.

      Hello

A member of the family purchased a micro and a spare pack of cartridges from find-me-a-gift.co.uk
It took her a couple of days to get used to it and is liking the product. The biggest issue is the website send her the cartridges for the classic. She phoned them and they said they didn’t have the correct ones to fit it and that she had to pay to send them back.
We can’t seem to find cartridges t fit the micro as Gamucci themselves only seem to have the classic on their website.

You can get the Gamucci micro cigarette cartridges on Ebay. Check out the link in comment 2 above.

I tried the Gamucci but didn’t like the taste, my wife bought me a Supersmoker from Holland and it does taste much better which was a very pleasant surprise.

Nothing was wrong with the Gamucci so I didn’t think to ask for a refund, it just tasted horrible.

    • 8. Don Gordon-Cheyne  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 11:50 pm

      Hi Phillip,

Please can you tell me where you got your Janty Yentl from, and also where you get your replacement cartridges from for the same Janty Yentl? Many thanks,

      Don.

I ordered my Gamucci Micro from iwoot and so far I’m most impressed with it.
When I saw the promotional video for it I just thought “That’s too good to be true” and very reluctantly shelled out £50 for it, figuring that if it didn’t work, it may at least have some novelty value in it.
I’m amazed at how good it is. It took me a while to get used to it. Have to hold it completely horizontal or barely any smoke comes out, and the weight of it’s …odd, but once I “learnt” how to smoke it properly, I’m a huge fan. Not wanted a real cigarette since! Fingers crossed I’ll stay this way.

“Please can you tell me where you got your Janty Yentl from, and also where you get your replacement cartridges from for the same Janty Yentl? Many thanks,”

I got the Janty Yentl cartridges from ruyanxpress.com

hi philip,i was interested in your comments on the micro as i feel that the vapour was also lacking compered with the original however, iv’e tried the web site you suggested [ruyanexpress.com] but have had no luck, can you give me anymore info. kind regards, paul

    • 12. Fontain Joe  |  June 10th, 2008 at 10:42 pm

Thanks Philip, very helpful post ! Have you got the replacement already, has it resolved the problem ? I am thinking which set to buy, classic or micro …

What do you think of alternative non-Gamucci kits from Ebay, - they seem to be cheaper and look the same ?

      Many thanks.

    • 13. Philip Nicosia  |  June 11th, 2008 at 11:19 am

I haven’t got my replacement yet but they did email me to let me know I would get it soon but they had run out of stock.

I’ve got a Gamucci classic and it performs very well and I like the taste but thats all down to personal preference though as someone above said they didn’t like it.

I’ve tried a few mini e-cigs now, Sedensa Nano II, Janty Kissbox yentl and super mini e-cig from Ebay. Out of those both the Janty Yentl and super mini cig work well but I din’t like the taste of the super mini.

The larger e-cigs like the Gamucci classic I think perform better but look a little odd.

The mini e-cigs should really been seen as “a going out e-cig” that looks more normal and doesn’t draw much attention.

      On Ebay the
Gamucci classic is a lot cheaper than the micro.

    • 14. Joy Newman  |  June 13th, 2008 at 10:47 pm

I have tried a Gammucci but found them a little heavy, so I tried one from Smartsmokershop on Ebay, same size as as normal cig and plenty of smoke, and cheaper.

    • 15. Fontain Joe  |  June 15th, 2008 at 12:29 am

      Thanks again.

According to your Ebay “Gamucci” link, they are £49.95 both, classic and micro.

I hoped these alternative e-cigs were from the same factory as Gamucci but with crappy finish and packaging (which was OK if it worked well). As you say the taste is different, so it might not be the case. I am more concerned about safety than taste. At least Gamucci is registered in London and you can sue them if something is wrong with the ingredients, Chinese ones can be made of anything ..

I am trying to persuade myself to spend more money on Gamucci, think £50 is still to much for a basic electronic device ! ))

    • 16. Peter Blackburn  |  June 16th, 2008 at 3:56 pm

      Hi,
It was extremely interesting to read the posts concerning the Gamucci Micro. I purchased mine about 3 weeks ago from IWOOT and on delivery was most impressed with the quality of manufacture, also by the fact that it “was made in England”. However, I am less impressed by the service received from “SmokeVapour”, their supposed authorised supplier of replacement cartridges. I was supplied with Classic, rather than Micro. (There was no choice offered on their site). I sent them 3 e-mails about this, to which I have not even received the courtesy of a reply. Gamucci themselves offered me 2 packets, as a goodwill gesture, so I am not actually out of pocket. Leave “SmokeVapour” well alone !!
I agree that the cartridges do not last that long; I thought that each one was supposed to be equivalent to 20 cigarettes ! The flavour is nowhere near that of tobacco and the vapour is pretty poor.
I would be interested to learn the name of a reliable supplier of compatible, quality cartridges, as I have found that in general the device has been very helpful. (I only smoke one or two normal low tar cigarettes a day now). Gamucci need to buck their ideas up a bit and find a better manufacturer of micro cartridges !!

    • 17. Philip Nicosia  |  June 16th, 2008 at 4:59 pm

It’s interesting that you think it is “Made in England”. There is nothing on the packaging that states where they are made but I would suspect very strongly that they are in fact made in China along with all the other e-cigarettes.

Getting hold of the Gamucci micro cartrigdes seems to be an issue for a lot of people. I myself ordered some from a supplier (can’t remember who) and although the packing list stated micro catridges I got classic ones instead. It wasn’t too much of an issue as I have a Gamucci classic also.

I have used the Janty Yentl cartidges that are compatible with the Gamucci. They come in lots of different flavours and the new HD ones last 1.5 times longer. Postage is a bit of a bummer though as they come from Holland and postage costs 12.50 euros although they do throw some free cartridges in to compensate.

    • 18. Joe Fontain  |  June 17th, 2008 at 2:33 pm

Are Janty Yentl cartridges compatible with mini e-cig from bay (the “blue man with bubbles” design): ? Thanks

    • 19. Philip Nicosia  |  June 17th, 2008 at 3:02 pm

I’ve tried them on one of those and they are a bit of a tight fit but will work. The atomizers are different.

The one on the bottom of the picture is the Janty atomizer and as you can see it is smaller. The top part rests on the part of the cartridge that stores the liquid. The other atomizer needs to be pushed into the container within the cartridge to fit so as you can see it isn’t ideal.

    • 20. anna  |  June 17th, 2008 at 9:12 pm

I have been using a Gamucci micro now for two weeks and i think its fab. The only down side is that it doesnt produce a lot of vapour but i dont mind that too much. The problem i have is that the batteries are not lasting very long at all. First one battery started losing charge and now the second one is. I have emailed Gamucci 3 times and spoken to someone on the phone at their office who gave me another email address to write to. Well its been 5 days since my first email and still no reply. Their customer services are truly dreadful.

Does anyone know the direct contact email for someone in charge there?

    • 21. Jeff  |  June 18th, 2008 at 4:10 pm

I guess my biggest question (and the one the Gamucci website has yet to answer), is when does this product come out in the States?

    • 22. anna  |  June 19th, 2008 at 3:45 pm

AS far as i can see (after speaking to a supplier in China. Tha gamucci is made in china and branded for them. So it may be best to avoid them completely as they are over priced in my opinion. I spoke to someone at Gamucci yesterday and they said they would get someone to call me. Still no call 24 hours later. Pathetic.

    • 23. yvonne  |  June 20th, 2008 at 9:21 am

i have the gacucci classic and bought the micro for my husband.

he is already having problems with the battery not holding charge and the way it works. the micro makes a funny noise when you inhale. sometimes the light comes on and other times it does not. i like the classic and so does he, we will contact drinkstuff where we got it and see what they say.
we think it has to be faulty.
drinkstuff also sell the cartridges for the classic and micro and have excellent service and very quick delivery.

    • 24. Gill  |  June 20th, 2008 at 6:54 pm

I also have the gamucci micro, when it works it’s fab, but like others the batteries no longer seem to be holding the charge properly , sometimes light comes on sometimes doesn’t. This is a problem as you can never really relax and enjoy it for long before either the light doesn’t come on or flashes continually and you’re never sure whether it’s the battery or the cartridge and have to check both. I have been reduced now to taking a charger to work which does look a bit desparate. Plenty of smoke when it’s working though!

    • 25. Gill  |  June 20th, 2008 at 7:08 pm

PS. Do other people’s get a bit hot?

    • 26. Stan Ferou  |  June 20th, 2008 at 11:46 pm

You’ve really just got to get used to the Micro - I think the atomiser is meant to crackle when the vapour is created. It requires a different technique to smoking an ordinary cigarette - I’ve had mine 3 weeks now, and I’m pretty much used to it. The battery usually lasts me about two thirds of a cartridge, but the chargers really small and convenient, and you get the two batteries - I think you may trade off size against power with the Micro, but I have no real complaints about mine.

    • 27. Gill  |  June 22nd, 2008 at 8:53 am

I take your point about it requiring a different tecnique, not a problem. I still think there’s something wrong though. charged over night, got a few good puffs at 7 am, a bit later I tried again, hardly any smoke and now, not yet 9.00 am, light coming on, no smoke and getting hot. Put new cartridge in this morning too.

    • 28. ian  |  June 24th, 2008 at 10:42 am

im hearing a lot of different opinions about several different e cigs im new to this but interested can anyone tell me a reliable, affordable e cig?

    • 29. Fontain Joe  |  June 25th, 2008 at 1:31 am

Just an update, decided to post here, as your blog seems to be the most comprehensive guide to e-cigs now: I bought a super mini e-cig from ebay and a bit dissapointed with it:

      - It is bigger and heavier than normal cig, and of course it feels like a bit of plastic in your mouth, not a nice cig paper

      - Does not produce as much smoke, but I expected it

      - Batteries are probably ok, but I am not using it all day long

      - Taste is similar to egyptian smoking pipe, sweet and fruity .. I would prefer strong marlboro taste

      The most important things:
      - liquid coming out from the hole, even when the e-cig is positioned with led down, - not good really as it probably contains high amount of nicotine
      - one of my collegues who test-drived it with a spare cartridge for a day complained he had sore lips after smoking it and some skin damage (probably because of the former reason)

As an advanced user, what do you reckon - what is that liquid, what do I need to change to get a different taste ? thanks

    • 30. Philip Nicosia  |  June 27th, 2008 at 3:50 pm

I’m no expert but it sounds like your atomizer if faulty and that is why you are getting the liquid in the mouth. I have a super mini cigarette and it produces loads of vapour and I don’t get the liquid in my mouth.

If it is still under waranty then I would contact the seller and ask for a replacement. If not then you could try cleaning it in warm water then let it dry thoroughly before using again.

If that doesn’t work then you could get a replacememt atomizer for it for about £5.00

    • 31. Jenny  |  June 27th, 2008 at 3:52 pm

I bought a gamucci classic on 3.6.08,brilliant until one of the batteries failed…..got that replaced. The blurb on the gamucci website states that the battery lasts a day, other web sites state 8 hours BUT, please note….. The warranty says the battery lasts 8 hours until it is charged, (which takes 3-4 hours) and subsequent use of the battery lasts 3-4 hours, thus I bought another gamucci classic. Within a week all 4 batteries are slowing down and it is like smoking air, hardly any vapour. I am either very unlucky and just happened to have been sent the small minority that do not work well or this gamucci e ciggie thing is a rip-off…… it is cheaper to smoke regular ciggies……if you are considering buying then please wait until there are considerable improvements in the product.

    • 32. Philip Nicosia  |  June 27th, 2008 at 4:02 pm

I would return at least one of your Gamuccis for replacement and when the new one arrives return the other.

Alternatively you could purchase a new atomizer that is compatible with your Gamucci classic for about £5.00

I bought one for my own and to be honest it performs better than the original.

    • 33. Jon  |  June 28th, 2008 at 12:18 am

“PS. Do other people’s get a bit hot?”
Yes. Not burning hot, but the gold strip between the cartridge and battery seems to get uncomfortable now and again.
I’m still happy with my Micro though. More so now I found different flavoured cartridges on eBay. The Apple ones are very very nice.
Good luck to all who are using these.
After smoking for 20 years, I really thought nothing would get me off “real” cigarettes, but this seems to work and I’m not even having cravings at all!

    • 34. Philip Nicosia  |  June 28th, 2008 at 9:59 am

      Jon,

I’d be interested to know where you got the apple flavour cartridges from. Do you know the sellers id so I can have a look?

      Thanks,

      Philip

    • 35. Jon  |  June 28th, 2008 at 11:20 pm

      Hi Philip,
The seller I got the flavoured cartridges from is ac_electronicss
I’ve ordered twice from them in the last week and both orders took less than 24 hours to arrived.
I tried the Turkish Delight and the Apple flavoured so far. I don’t think I’d have the Turkish Delight again, but I’m going to be switching from Tobacco flavoured to Apple, as it’s much nicer.

    • 36. john t.  |  June 30th, 2008 at 8:20 am

I have both the mini and super mini bought from v-cig and e-bay . I prefer the super mini but as with others the battery life is very poor and the atomiser on the super mini has stopped working. I think the 30 day guarantee is a clue……has anybody had one for any length of time or will I have to buy a replacement atomiser every 30 days?

    • 37. Philip Nicosia  |  June 30th, 2008 at 6:51 pm

I’ve got a super-mini and it is still going strong a month on but I must confess it doesn’t get much use.

    • 38. Jon  |  June 30th, 2008 at 7:03 pm

One of my atomisers for Gamucci Micro stopped working and I cleaned it with some surgical spirit (and a cottonbud) and it’s working again now.
There was quite a lot of brown yuck coating the atomiser that came off when cleaning, which kind of made me wonder what exactly my lungs are getting coated with…
Anyhow, the atomiser’s now working better than it has ever done.
I don’t know how safe this method is, but it worked for me.
Just if anyone does try, make sure to leave the atomiser to dry out completely, as inhaling surgical spirit doesn’t sound pleasant.

    • 39. anna  |  July 1st, 2008 at 8:44 am

Hi, The best e cig i have tried is from www.cigstar.co.uk. Its the smaller one. The battery lasts a full day, the vaporiser is a better design than the gamucci and has lots of vapour all the time. Im still waiting for a new battery of gamucci 2 weeks after calling them. I called them 5 times and had to threaten them with trading standards if they didnt reply to my emails. The gamucci is just a waste of time. Try the cigstar its hands down 100%better. (and no im not on commission)

    • 40. tony desouza  |  July 1st, 2008 at 11:56 am

I actually am very happy with my Gamucci. Ive had it for three months and during that time ive not had a single real cigarette. Never had any problems with my battery. Works like a dream. I just put in a new cartridge and im good for the day. if you want to quit smoking …I would say its worth a try. Much better than the gum and patches.

    • 41. Kannan Rajalingam  |  July 2nd, 2008 at 11:32 am

      Hi,

My name is Kannan and I am the newly appointed Customer Services Manager here at Gamucci. I firstly must apologise for any problems anyone has received in late responses to emails or calls to us.

Unfortunately we hired a couple of staff that proved to be incompetent and were not doing their job correctly that has resulted in a few customers receiving unsatisfactory service. This is something we take very seriously.

This has now been rectified and I am here to help and assist anyone who has a problem with Gamucci. Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me on the following email: kannan@gamucci.com

    • 42. Jon  |  July 2nd, 2008 at 6:07 pm

      Hi Kannan,
On the off chance you’ll check here again, is there any chance that Gamucci will start selling the flavoured cartridges in medium and low strengths? I’ve been told that currently they’re only available in high and zero strengths.
As I’ve previously posted here, I’m loving the Apple flavour, but I’m wanting to cut down from High Strength to Medium in a week or so. The thought of going back to tobacco flavour after discovering the Apple is not tempting. I don’t think I can drop from High strength to zero strength either.

    • 43. Jenny  |  July 3rd, 2008 at 1:20 am

Sorry for takingtime to reply to you, and thanks for your advice. Fortunately I ordered my Gamucci from Drinkstuff.com, and they have been fantastic in so far as replacing the batteries….then one of their customer service people suggested it might be the atomiser at fault, so he sent me 2 of those….. it appears he was absolutely correct however, one does work, one does not. Meanwhile I have written to Gamucci and they should have received my letter by Monday 28.6.08, so I am waiting for their response. I just consider myself very fortunate to have ordered my 2 from such a brilliant online shop…..and greatful that they have sorted my problems out for me.

    • 44. Simon Watts  |  July 3rd, 2008 at 6:18 pm

Hello everyone again. Not too sure what everyone’s really talking about as I’ve bought the Classic and the Micro with the latest flavours and not had any problems, the cherry flavour is awesome and now my sister has received here’s (Micro) yesterday, she is very impressed. Ordering the rest of the flavours to try out – Peach, Coffee, Apple, Menthol and Turkish Delight can’t wait!

    • 45. Gill  |  July 3rd, 2008 at 7:31 pm

Hi all. Three things to say,
      1.Yes, my gamucci gets hot.
      2. I actually spoke to Kannan at Gamucci this week and he was really helpful so I would recommend getting in touch with him if you have any problems.
( with your gamucci not general counselling!)
      3. I bought a mini- from eco-cigarettes on ebay while waiting for my gamucci problems to be sorted and it ROCKS! I’m sure the Gamucci will do the same when it’s sorted Kannan :-)

    • 46. Jenny  |  July 3rd, 2008 at 9:18 pm

With respect to those who have had no trouble with their gamucci ( happy for you)it does not mean that others are not having problems and to have been told by your supplier that our T and C’s will tell you that ‘this has nothing to do with us’must be damn annoying. I have splashed out £200 for e cigarettes and cartridges and I may as well have chucked the money down the drain.

    • 47. Stan Ferou  |  July 6th, 2008 at 3:54 pm

Well, I’m having trouble with my MINI now - I guess I deserve it for being so blase and patronising further up the page, lol. The new flavours seem to have done in my atomiser - or it may have been me trying to squeeze a little too much out of a cartridge, I don’t know. Anyway, about what I’d consider as “halfway” thru a cartridge the taste becomes extremely nauseating. Check this thread…

Is there a better atomizer design?

It’s the line in Jarvis’ initial post - “You may not notice this at first…” which I find a little disturbing - that I may have been inhaling toxins without actually realising it, masked by those delicious, but deceptive flavours…

I couldnt really say overall as I’ve only used the Gamucci MINI - but the basic atomiser design is pretty much universal (correct me if I’m wrong), so I’m not sure there’s that much to choose between brands. Are there better quality components in a Janty Kissbox? Or is it all just hype. You’ll find a lot more help over in the e-cig forum that I linked to in my previous post.

Oh and my Gamucci MINI seems to be fine now - I rinsed the atomiser out, and I’ve been letting it drain overnight. I guess a small resevoir of stale liquid had been building up, hence the nasty tasting vapour. My only complaint now is the battery life, which seems very erratic, no matter how long I charge them for.

The Gamucci Micro and the Janty Kissbox Yentl are so similar they might even come out of the same factory. I have both and the atomisers look identical. You can even swap around batteries, chargers etc as they all fit each other.

The Janty Yentl performs no better or worse than the Gamucci but has a slighly longer battery.

Some very interesting thoughts on here. What we all must understand that these cigarettes are not for everyone’s liking. Have you heard of the phrase – “you can never please everyone”! My devices and my sisters have been working like a dream. Gamucci have now introduced a disposable version, really cool – Daisy Lowe is a BIG FAN of them, check out The London Paper. Anyway, STILL LOVING IT!

Phil, do you mean the Gamucci is similar to the original Janty Yentl, because the Janty Yentl Kissbox, and the Classic Kissbox, have other features, most notably an optional “manual” battery…

I’m so sorry, forgot the link…

I have the Janty Kissbox Yentl with both a manual and automatic switch. The atomizer looks identical and performance is the same. The cartidges are identically sized to the Gamucci Micro so will fit.

OK, well for some reason I’m unable to post the link - I had no trouble with the one further up the page. Maybe it’s because I left out the link label - I’m used to it displaying the actual address as the link label when I do that. Anyhow, one last go…

      Janty Kissbox Yentl

    • 57. Stan Ferou  |  July 23rd, 2008 at 7:52 pm

Ah, so the only difference would be the availability of a manual battery for the Gamucci - and I suppose, a manual Janty battery could be used separately, if it wasn’t for this…

“Available ONLY to customers who’ve already bought the JANTY™ KISSBOX YENTL.”

Hi, I bought one of the Gamucci micros for my dad, which he finds to be ok. I was about to buy a bunch of the new flavoured cartridges from Drinkstuff, and some more tobacco flavoured ones, but I don’t want to do so until I know how I can get hold of spare atomisers and spare batteries. I doesn’t appear as if any are available for the Gamucci micro? Can anyone give me some information about this issue? It appears to be suggested above that the Janty atomisers and batteries fit the Gamucci micro? I don’t want to buy loads of cartridges for the G Micro until I know the thing will work for an extended period- ie, until I can get replacement parts…

Hi, I have the Classic which is performing very well and I like it. One problem is that one of he 2 batteries seems impossible to charge, while the other seems to hold up all day, at the rate I use it. Has anyone else had battery probs on this, and were they resolved by Gamucci quickly?
      Thanks

I’m sorry - in one of my previous posts I mentioned that I “rinsed the atomiser out, and I’ve been letting it drain overnight”. I was referring to two separate processes…

      1. Rinsing under hot water and then drying immediately either with a hairdryer or by dry smoking (first option is probably the safest).

      2. Draining - i.e. leaving the atomiser mesh side down at a 45° angle in a glass, with a tissue at the bottom.

DO NOT let your atomiser dry overnight after rinsing as there is a risk of oxidisation. Hope that’s cleared up any confusion.

Hi. I bought the classic last week not realising it looked more like a pen than a ciggy… however I have not smoked a real ciggy since (except in a joint or 2!!) and pretty happy with it overall. Not come across any of the problems mentioned previously re. batteries or atomisers but with mine being relatively I wouldn’t expect to have yet. I would recommend the classic to anyone, I never thought I would stop smoking real ciggys and haven’t even wanted one. As I state, the only drawback is the size and appearance but i smoke mainly in the house so no problems. If I do smoke it outside i tend to keep the gamucci classic in a closed fist and smoke away. Nice little gadget… well, not so little but nice all the same. Cheers (smoke on!)

I’ve beeen reading all the chelpful comments with interest. I recently bought a Gamucci Classic and like others was taken back a little with its size and also not sure about the mouthpiece which looks a bit pretentious as it appears to others that you are using a cigarette holder….However, overall I was really pleased - plenty of smoke and only needed a few satisfying puffs and then didn’t even think about smoking for a few hours. I did buy some new low tar cartridges - like me you may find the standard strength ones that come with the starter pack too strong. No problems with chargers. But I then lost it and immediately brought a Micro which looked better without the black mouthpiece…..but what a dissapointment so far - hardly any smoke and although looks more like a cigarette, it is not as satisfying as the Classic. Unless someone can let me know where I can get the bottom section only for the Classic (I still have many cartridges and spare battery) seems I will have to purchase ANOTHER one - but this time it will be the Classic - I see now on e-bay for £42 and with free post. My guess is that once all Gamucci products match the Classic standard and perhaps prices come down (starting already)it will be a great hit. I’m certainly recommending them to the friends I have left who smoke !

You can get a replacement atomizer here. It is not a Gamucci one but it will fit your batteries and charger and costs about £5.00

    • 64. Colin N  |  August 22nd, 2008 at 1:54 pm

Thanks Philip. You have saved me £ 35!!! I assume all the Classic cartridges I have will fit the atomizer also ?

    • 65. Philip Nicosia  |  August 22nd, 2008 at 1:57 pm

All your cartridges will fit. All these classics from different manufactures are basically the same design.

I found this clear plastic cover in the box. i assume it came out of the atomizer because the smoke really tickles my throte. does everyone have a clear cover covering the atomizer?
