Gamucci Elite Disposable Electronic Cigarette review

I came across the Gamucci Elite disposable electronic cigarettes at Prezziesplus and couldn’t resist the temptation to buy one to try it out. Unlike normal electronic cigarettes and the rest of the Gamucci range these are a one time use and throw away e-cigarette.

They are reported to be the equivalent of 40 cigarettes after which time you just throw it in the bin. I think these are a really good idea and a good introduction into e-smoking and will most likely be marketed in Pubs and Clubs across the country. The advantage with these it they require no initial charging and work straight out of the box (or tube as it comes in) so they can be sold for instant use.

I’ve seen Gamucci cigarettes for sale in a casino in London before with lots of signs around saying “Now you can smoke inside” but these were the original rechargeable ones which I would think prove difficult to sell as you couldn’t use it straight away so the impulse to buy would be less.

The only thing I would say about these is I think they are a bit pricey. At £14.95 you could actually buy 3 packets of cigarettes for the price of 1 disposable cigarette equivalent to 2 packets. The size of them as well is more like a large cigar rather than a cigarette. Below is a picture of the comparable sizes of the Gamucci range to a standard Marlboro cigarette.

Far left is obviously the Marlboro cigarette (84mm), next is the Gamucci Micro Electronic Cigarette (110mm) then the Gamucci Classic Electronic cigarette (152mm) and lastly the Gamucci Elite disposable electronic cigarette (132mm).

Smoking wise it works really well. Despite what they might say it tastes like no real cigarette I’ve ever smoked before but nonetheless it is a nice smoking experience. The LED on the end that lights up has gone from the normal orange/red colour to a green LED. This has been done to differentiate from a normal cigarette so as not to cause confusion and I think this is a good idea. People seeing a orange/red LED in the distance could make them think someone is smoking a real cigarette and send the wrong signal making them think it is okay to light up a normal cig.

This has actually happened to me in a way when I was smoking an electronic cigarette in an airport in Croatia (it was allowed to smoke normal cigarettes there) and 3 people in the space of 5 minutes came up to me asking for a light. It took some explaining that the cigarette wasn’t real and I didn’t have a lighter.

The Gamucci Elite disposable electronic cigarettes are a good introduction into e-smoking so if you have ever thought about this but were put off by the cost of a £50 starter kit then this is a much cheaper way of trying it out for you. My girlfriend thinks these e-cigarettes are one of the best inventions ever made and I would agree. I no longer have to put up with the constant nagging of me smoking yet at the same can continue to do so in a healthier manner.
