I’ve had to switch my webcam off. We’ve had loads of rain over the weekend and the lake is starting to flood. At the rate it is going I imagine my webcam will be under water tomorrow.
Unfortunately because the water is so high I can no longer get to it to take it down so I might need to buy another one if I can find one so it might be a while before it’s working again.
The company I bought it from has stopped trading I think so if anyone knows where you can buy Neu Fusion wireless network cameras then please let me know.

I’ve lived on Watermead for a few years now and not seen this before.

We spotted a couple of baby Grebes on the lake. The mother was diving for small fish and bringing them up for the baby grebes to eat.

Our dustbin didn’t get collected on Thursday due to the snow and ice and we were ever hopeful that it would be collected the next day. That didn’t happen and it hasn’t been collected today (Saturday) either and it isn’t going to be.
I just checked with the council’s website and it says that all cancelled collections will be collected on your next collection day. In other words they aren’t comming until next Thursday and ask we all put our dustbins back inside until then.
Looks like we will have to get some black bags today.

For once the weather got it right predicting severe weather for the area and on waking up this morning all you could see was snow and lots of it.

Being in the UK that means schools are closed, airports are closed, roads blocked, mass disruption to public transport amongst other things as we simply aren’t prepared for any of this.
Personally I love the snow and wish we had it more often and for longer. I’d already decided last night that I wouldn’t work today and would set about building a snowman which I haven’t done for years.
Our pets don’t quite know what to make of all this, especially the rabbits who ventured out for 30 seconds and ran back into their nice warm hutch.

The cat walked slowly across the path with her little feet buried in the snow until she thought it was too cold and decided to run straight back in.

Later I walked around the lake and took some pictures which you can see in the Gallery section.

When you can tell when it’s getting really cold when the lake starts to freeze.

You can just about make out the birds standing on top of the ice.
