    Harased by TalkTalk

June 6th, 2008 by Philip Nicosia

I’m being harassed by TalkTalk who told me my account was settled nearly 18 months ago have decided to send me a Final Demand for money I don’t even owe them.

This letter is notification of our intention to pass your account to a licensed debt collection agancy, in order to pursue payment of your final outstanding balance, if we do not receive payment or a response within the next 7 days.

Your credit rating may already be affected through non-payment of your bills.

Nice! So you lot of aresholes are going to set the dogs on me and ruin my credit rating because you are so incompetent to deal with even the simplest of matters.

Well I did respond and explained that I was led to believe this was all sorted out on 21st December 2006 and if anything they owe me money to be told yes there is a note on your account for a credit to be raised but it doesn’t look like it has been done. In order for this to happen I would have to be put through to customer services where I was promptly cut off.

I don’t even have a direct number for customer services to contact them. At this rate I will be attending court as the debt collectors can go to hell!

    Carpenters in Aylesbury

May 6th, 2008 by Philip Nicosia

I have many talents but DIY is definately not one of them. I would be in one of the many statistics like “DIY accidents” or “Getting someone in to finish the job properly” so when we needed to create more storage room by boarding out our garage loft I did the sensible thing in calling someone in to do it for me.

Now I don’t know about you but I’ve always found it difficult to find reliable tradesmen but luckily a good friend of mine put me onto C and D Carpentry Services Ltd. They came round and gave me a quote which was half the price I had been given by someone else so I took them up on it and we fixed a date.

They turned up when they said they would, did a fantastic job and even cleared up to the extent you wouldn’t have know they had even been there. So impressed with their service and quality of work, I got them to board out my loft and put a loft ladder in as well.

So if you’re looking for a good reliable carpenter in Aylesbury, give them a call on 01296 630003.

    Did you feel the earthquake?

February 27th, 2008 by Philip Nicosia

At about 1 am this morning I was lying in bed and heard this strange rumbling noise and felt the whole bed shaking. It was really strange and at one point felt that our cat must have been in the room and was jumping up and down on my legs.

About 10 seconds later it stopped and I layed there wondering if the cat was still in the room. Moments later my girlfirend who was working on the computer downstairs came running up asking “did you feel that”. I said yes and told her I thought the cat was in the room when she explained the whole room downstairs was shaking and it must have been an earthquake.

We don’t get many earthquakes in this country and I thought no more of it until I turned on the radio in the morning to hear there was in fact an earthquake.

Well it turns out the epicentre was in Market Rasen in Lincolnshire 138 miles away. It was a shock for us but I can’t imagine what it was like there.

    Greenpeace -Get a life!

November 6th, 2007 by Philip Nicosia

    From Yahoo News

MacNN reports that Greenpeace is planning a rally during Apple’s launch of the iPhone in Europe to protest the use of alleged toxic chemicals in the device, including brominated flame retardants.

The environmental campaigners argue that tests conducted by its UK labs reveal the presence of PVCs and brominated flame retardants (BFRs), both potentially dangerous compounds, which although within the legal limits, the use of which could have been avoided.

Zeina Alhajj, campaign co-ordinator for Greenpeace, told EE Times “The iPhone is a unique product and for us it is a missed opportunity for Apple to combine the innovation of the product with a green performance. If Apple really wants to reinvent the phone, it needs to design out all hazardous substances and materials from its handsets and peripherals”.

Apple aren’t doing anything illegal. They are already committed to eliminate the use of PVC and brominated flame retardants in its products by the end of next year. Why pick on the iPhone? Because they know all the hype around the iPhone will give them publicity.

Get a life Greenpeace! That’s what I say.
